Virtual Barbershop

The Floor Plan in Room 187

Paris Hilton with Super-Mullet

I walk into a room that is set up like an old school barbershop, with a barbers’ chair, a mirror, and different barber accessories. I sit in the waiting area, and hang out, flipping through magazines. I am offered a ‘virtual haircut’ by a man dressed as a barber, and although I don’t know exactly what that means, I decide to agree to it. First, a picture is taken of me for the “before” shot, then I am promptly blindfolded, smocked, and have headphones put on me. I am surprised to hear that it actually sounds like I am receiving a haircut. I remember I saw some cut hair on the floor and I begin to fear that my hair is actually being cut. I feel something soft fall of my shoulder. I am overwhelmed and unsure what to do. After a couple minutes, the sounds stop, and my chair is swiveled around so I am not facing the mirror. The blindfold and the headphones are removed, and they tell me I will now see the after effect. A picture is held up and it’s a picture of me, except I have a bright pink mullet! I laugh, feeling relieved, and the picture is handed to me. My original hair is still intact and I get to keep my very own image of my virtual haircut.

Note: We think it would be better if we re-recorded the virtual haircut so it did not include as much dialogue. It would make the experience more cohesive and convincing.
