Sequence of Events
Scene 1 - Throughout OCAD
• Marketing team attracts visitors into room 187 through creative advertising
Scene 2 - Waiting area right outside Room 187
Actions
• Visitor is greeted by receptionist in waiting area asking them what service they want
today: hair cut, or makeup
• Receptionist hands over waiver form to visitor and asks him/her to review and sign
• Photographer standing by takes visitor's picture for the digital manipulation and takes it to digital station
• Receptionist has 2 clipboards/forms - one for haircut, the other for makeup – and writes visitor's name on appropriate form
• Receptionist tells visitor that it won’t be long and they will call their name when ready
• Members of class act as people waiting as well: reading magazines, waiting in chairs, etc
• The stylist that is ready for a visitor, walks into the waiting area, consults their designated form (makeup or hair) at the reception desk and calls the next visitor's name
• Stylist takes visitor through doors of Room 187
Sounds
• Radio playing in the background
• Phone ringing and receptionist answering to book appointments
Scene 3 - Room 187 Overall
Actions
• Stylist leads visitor to barber chair and introduces themselves, etc
• Room is filled with other chairs and class members acting as patrons and stylists pretending to get their hair cut or makeup applied, etc.
• Helpers sweeping the floor
Sounds
• Class members acting as patrons and stylists talking to each other
• Radio is playing in the background as well
• Sounds of barber instruments: clippers, hair dryer, scissors
Odors
• Hair dye
• Shampoo, hair gel
Scene 3a - Haircut
Actions
• Stylist asks visitor how they would like their hair cut
• Stylist wraps barber cloth around visitor
• Stylist turns visitor away from mirror so they cannot see
• Stylist then pretends to cut hair using clippers and scissors - action needs to be discussed with class and refined to simulate real experience
• Stylist interacts with visitor with small talk
• After Stylist is done cutting they remove barber cloth, dust off visitor with neck duster,
turn them back in front of mirror, hold up hand mirror to show back
• Stylist escorts visitor back to reception area and tells them their 'virtual haircut' will be displayed by the projector soon
Scene 3b - Make up
Actions
• Make up artist asks how they want make up applied
• Make up artist wraps towel around shoulders of visitor
• Make up artist turns visitor away from mirror
• Make up artist applies make up - action needs to be discussed with class and refined
to simulate real experience
• Make up artist interacts with visitor with small talk
• Make up artist removes towels and turns visitor back to mirror
• Make up artist escorts visitor back to reception area and tells them their 'virtual makeover' will be displayed by the projector soon
Scene 4 - Ending
Actions
• Make up artist escorts visitor back to reception area and tells them their 'virtual makeover/haircut' will be displayed by the projector soon (on waiting room or foyer wall)
• Receptionist thanks visitor for their business and wishes them a pleasant day
