People nowadays are really into mp3 gadgets, especially the ipod, and my reaction when I first saw the iWalk was that it could really free your hands from holding and getting your ipod back and forth in your pocket and you don't have to worry about getting your old earphones tangled up. It's the perfect headphones for the person who has their hands full all the time. It may be a perfect device when you're walking or just sitting around but I don't think it will hold that well in your head once you start running or jogging. Well, I guess it still depends on how your body moves and how often you move your head when you run.
The design of this gadget is pretty straight-forward because its main purpose is simply to free your hands and be able to use your ipod at the same time. It fits very well into the culture today where all sorts of high tech gadgets, such as the ipod, are part of everyday life. Introducing a new gadget like this headphones, the iWalk, that is built to the specifications of the ipod, would easily blend in our culture today. The accesibility of the iWalk shouldn't be a problem since we are living in a fast-paced world where gadgets like this and the ipod are made to make life more easier for us. The aesthetic-usability effect is also something that we must take note of because most of us knows how good an ipod looks like aesthetically and how user-friendly it is at the same time so the same idea and approach is pretty much applied to the iWalk since it is made for the ipod. The principle of Ockham's razor can also be applied to this because the headphones were made to be simple and efficient to the user to be able to work well with the ipod, which has the same idea of simplicity rather than complexity ever since it was released. When it comes to performance vs. preference I really have to try this headphones first before I could say if it could perform well or not. The ipod, which became the preference to most of us as the ideal mp3 player, lived up to its expectations and performs well thats why a lot of people have it. The iWalk should have the same effect if it lives up to its expectations. People should not just think of it as a cool device right away just because it is made for the ipod. It should perform well to be accepted in the same level as the ipod.
