Final Reminder For Friday

Hi Everyone,

Here are some final reminders for Friday's event:

Set Up and Clean Up

Here is the setting up and cleaning up list. For those of you that were not there, I just put you in a group. If you are unable to make it or stay for the time slot you were given or signed up for, try joining the other group to help out. For those that are NOT setting up, please meet in Room 187 at 1:30PM.

Job Roles

Here is the list for the job roles. We will be doing another dry run at 1:30PM to make sure everyone knows what they're doing.

Items and Budget Reimbursements

Please check the list that I posted earlier on what everyone signed up to bring in. Please remember to label your items with your name so we know who to return them to after the event.

For those that are purchasing items on behalf of the class please remember to keep your receipts and write your name and description of the items on there. Hand in your receipts to one of the Organization Team Members on Friday (Angela, Alex, Bonnie or Robert) and we will pay you back during the debrief the following Tuesday.

What to Wear

Please remember to wear all black on Friday as that's what the class decided on during the rehearsal.

If you have any questions, please email me at rt07kk@student.ocad.ca or post to the blog. I will be checking email throughout the day tomorrow.

Thanks and see you on Friday.

UPDATE FROM THE BUILDING TEAM

Hello everyone,

The Building Team needs to clarify a few things before moving forward in designing the barber shop.

The class, as a whole, should decide what kind of experience participants will have when interacting with our design. Do we want it to be scary, mysterious, funny etc...We can control mood and atmosphere through choice in materials. A good example is the choice in material covering the partitions (Teresa mentioned that the partitions are in rough condition and should be covered). The material we pick to cover the partitions will drastically change the effect of mood on the participant; dark, heavy, red curtains will make a darker, scarier space, while plain white will allow more light in, and will give a very different impression and feel. Once the mood is determined, we will be able to select a material that enhances and brings to life the mood that we want to create.

Should we vote on this in teams, or as individuals?

Update

Hi Everyone,

Thanks to everyone who signed up on the items list, however we still need a number of things and to keep costs down we'd like to borrow as much as possible. So for those of you that haven't signed up, please try to do so by tomorrow morning so we can finalize the budget.

There is no need to bring the items to the rehearsal on Tuesday except for the hair clippers (shaver) and scissors so we can try out the actual hair cutting.

We will post the budget on the blog by Monday night along with some other reminders.

Hope everyone had a good weekend.

Thanks.

Robert

Partition decor?

Hi class, I've requested partitions, like those you usually see in the great hall during exhibitions. We can use these to keep each client from seeing what's happening to the other. Only thing is that the partitions are very scuffed and white. You might want to consider covering them with some material to make them feel more like a hair salon experience.

T-Shirts for Marketing Team and Budget

Hi Class,

The Marketing team has requested that we each bring in a solid colour t-shirt with no logo (doesn't matter what color) that you don't want anymore so we can make t-shirts for the day of the event.

Please bring this to next Tuesday's rehearsal.

Also once the organization team is done calculating the budget we will post on the blog the final amount each person has to bring in for next Tuesday's rehearsal.

Thanks.
